Inspired by Fender Valley talk

Colin Millington's talk about the Fender Valley on March 13th inspired us to explore the area on Sunday. We started at Thingwall and walked through extraordinarily muddy fields to Landican. We then turned onto Landican Lane. Lots of signs of spring to spot on the way. Celandines, first hawthorn leaves and hazel catkins....

We passed several small ponds...

...and crossed Prenton Brook...

...before arriving at Storeton.

Finally we returned to Thingwall across the fields...

Welcome to our new blog

If you are a regular visitor to our website you may have browsed through the posts on the messageboard. This was set up to encourage Wirral people interested in wildlife to take part in discussions and share their stories. We had plenty of people reading - some of our posts had over 400 viewers. However, it seems people were too shy to post messages themselves and so we have decided to close the board. We will use this blog to regularly update you on wildlife related news and events on the Wirral. We still hope to hear from you though, so please feel free to send us your thoughts - just click on the 'Comments' link at the bottom of a post.
